In the heart of Houston, TX2K bids a fond farewell to its longstanding home, Houston Raceway Park, marking the end of an era with a spectacular display of drag racing prowess.

Conceived more than two decades ago by the visionary Peter Blach, TX2K started as a Toyota Supra-centric event and has since evolved into a colossal gathering of speed enthusiasts, embracing a myriad of vehicles from domestics to supercars.
As Houston Raceway Park transforms into a distribution warehouse hub, the Texas Motorplex, situated outside Dallas, will inherit the mantle as the new official venue beginning March 2024.
The final weekend at Houston Raceway Park showcased 14 categories with 250 entries, featuring a diverse lineup, including Big Tire cars from Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings and a robust Street Car class boasting 59 participants.

The drag racing division witnessed astonishing performances, with Eric LaFerriere's 240SX clinching the title for the all-time quickest run in the TX2K class competition at 6.39 seconds and 225 mph.
Notably, the 2JZ powerplant dominated, exemplified by "White Rice," a 1996 Nissan 240SX, which set a new TX2K record with a scorching 6.510 at 220 mph.
GTRs, DCT-equipped rides, and street cars also left their mark. Mac Brosnan triumphed in the GTR Unlimited class, while Street Car Elite saw Brett LaSala's 2012 Mustang GT dominate with consistent mid-6-second runs.
The Stick Shift Elite category witnessed Nick Cole-Mann's 6.826 top-of-the-list performance, and Miles Kerr secured victory with his '94 Acura Integra.

As TX2K bids farewell to Houston, the legacy continues at the Texas Motorplex, promising an exhilarating future for drag racing enthusiasts.
