SSC has conceded that its Tuatara supercar fell short of the initially stated speeds of 331 or 301 mph during its Nevada top-speed run last year.

The company expressed its commitment to officially surpass the 300-mph mark in an Instagram post.
The Tuatara, equipped with a 1750-hp twin-turbocharged 5.9-liter V-8 engine, achieved an average speed of 282.9 mph in a subsequent run in Florida.
Last year, SSC's Tuatara claimed a world production-car speed record at 316.11 mph, but controversy arose over the authenticity of the record video.

Following a failed attempt to replicate those speeds, SSC has now officially admitted the shortfall in its initial run, expressing determination to transparently and unquestionably break the 300 mph barrier.
